Muay Thai Gym at Horizon Thai Boxing Camp
Muay Thai Gym on Koh Phangan
Beautifully situated overlooking the sea, amidst gorgeous gardens, the location of our Muay Thai gym at Horizon Thai Boxing Camp is nothing short of spectacular. Our Muay Thai gym in Thailand is open air. Far from the crowds and traffic fumes of the city, the gym provides an ideal training environment. The gym is secluded but not isolated.
And there is an incredible atmosphere!
Our Muay Thai gym is equipped with everything you need to learn and train in Muay Thai kickboxing. We also have a full-size Muay Thai stadium for you to practice in. Our dedicated Muay Thai instructors provide friendly authentic Muay Thai boxing tuition in tropical paradise surroundings. Any of you visiting this website, young or old, male or female, beginners or experienced Muay Thai fighters are very welcome to learn Muay Thai at our Thailand training camp any time.
There are large mirrors for you to shadow box in front of, as you strive to look both graceful and controlled. We have four long kicking bags used to develop mucle memory, and improve stamina and conditioning. At first our Muay Thai instructors will assist you, but in time you will be able to to use the long bags with minimal supervision. There are speed balls: keep your head close, and dodge the ball as it swings towards you.
This helps to build reflexes and improve your eye.
The gym has pads on the walls for uppercut punching and elbow practice. There are a bench press, chin up bar, sit-up benches and free weights, all good for improving general conditioning and building muscle. Bouncing on old truck tyres is a great warm-up and will improve your balance. There is an open area for skipping and warm up excercises. Skipping ropes, boxing gloves, shin guards and other protective gear for you and your traineer to use during training sessions are available.
There is no need to bring any of your own equipment unless you want to.
Outside of training sessions all visitors to the camp are welcome to use the gym at any time. But ours is a Muay Thai gym and not really set up as a western-style fitness or body-building gym. We don't have lots of modern fitness equipment such as rowing machines, stationary bikes or fancy weights machines.
